What is Surgical Record Application ?

In the field of cardiovascular surgery education, a key need is to present the current status of a surgeon’s knowledge and experience level. A standardization effort to ensure quality assurance in professional training is essential.

Even within the same country, the training provided during cardiovascular surgery specialization varies greatly in content and quality. While a degree of curriculum consistency has been achieved for fundamental surgical procedures, the training for specialized procedures remains highly variable.

Due to the lack of a standardized documentation source that would allow surgeons to record the number and type of surgeries performed throughout their careers, professional memory at the institutional level is maintained through patient tracking systems. For a surgeon who has worked at a single institution throughout their career, it may be possible to compile an archive by accessing available records retrospectively. However, for a surgeon who has worked across different institutions, this is nearly impossible.

This issue poses a challenge at varying levels worldwide, including in European countries and in our country. There is no standardized, widely accepted documentation system that enables cardiovascular surgeons to record their surgeries in a systematic way from residency through their professional careers. This highlights the need for a resource that is current, accessible, and developed through consensus to accommodate regional differences, varying levels of education, and diverse experience levels.

The output generated by this application will serve as a resource that can be easily transferred to electronic format by individuals or institutions as needed. This resource will enable surgeons to present their experience in a standardized, accepted form that includes all essential and contemporary techniques and methods.

Cerrahi Kayıt Uygulaması Nedir?

Kalp ve damar cerrahisi eğitiminde bir diğer ihtiyaç cerrahın bilgi ve tecrübe düzeyinin güncel durumunun gösterilmesidir. Mesleki eğitimde kalite güvencesini sağlayacak olan bir standardizasyon çalışması oldukça önemlidir.

Kalp ve damar cerrahisi uzmanlığı sürecinde görülen eğitim aynı ülke içerisinde bile farklı içerikte ve yeterliktedir. Temel cerrahi işlemler konusunda belirli bir oranda müfredat bütünlüğü sağlanmış olsa da, özellikli işlemler konusunda verilen eğitimler çok değişkendir.

Sadece asistan eğitimi süreci boyunca cerrahların mesleki eğitimleri boyunca yaptıkları cerrahi işlemleri sayı ve içerik olarak belgeleyebilecekleri standart bir dokümantasyon kaynağı eksikliğinden dolayı mesleki hafıza kurumsal düzeyde hasta takip sistemleri ile ilerlemektedir.

Tüm meslek hayatı boyunca tek bir kurumda çalışmış biri geçmişe dönük kayıtları elde edebildiği kadar bulup bir arşiv oluşturabilir. Ancak farklı kurumlarda çalışmış bir cerrah için ise bu neredeyse imkansız hale gelmektedir.

Bu sorun tüm dünyada, Avrupa ülkelerinde ve ülkemizde farklı düzeylerde yaşanan bir zorluktur. Kardiyovasküler cerrahın asistanlıktan başlayarak meslek hayatı süresince yaptığı cerrahi işlemleri standart ve kabül gören bir şekilde belgelemesini sağlayacak bir doküman sistemi yoktur ve buna yönelik farklı bölgesel özelliklere, farklı eğitim düzeylerine, farklı tecrübe düzeylerine hitap edebilen, ortak akıl ve konsensüs ile hazırlanmış, güncel ve erişime açık bir sistematik kaynağa ihtiyaç vardır.

Bu aplikasyon sayesinde oluşturulacak çıktı, isteyen kişi veya kurumun kolayca elektronik ortama aktarabileceği bir kaynak olacaktır. Bu kaynak, cerrahın tecrübesini tüm temel ve güncel teknik ve yöntemleri de içerecek şekilde standart ve kabul edilir bir bilgi olarak sunabilmesini sağlayacaktır.
